Salem Community College’s new glass art program provides the two-year degree-seeking student with a solid foundation in using glass as a sculptural material. The program stresses the importance of technical ability and critical thinking as the basic tenets for object-making.
A Quick Overview
Students begin their degree with foundation courses in three-dimensional design and drawing. The general degree is augmented by a basic liberal arts curriculum. Independent study is available to second year students who wish to further their individual explorations and research with a faculty mentor. As well, a variety of scholarship and internship opportunities give select motivated students invaluable off-campus experience.
